Desert Down the Middle

In the middle of St. Louis Avenue, between Maryland Parkway and Paradise.
We first reported on it here.

It's both a beautification AND traffic control project, which will be just one lane of travel in each direction with bike lanes, and parking on each side of the street.
The excavation finally ended, and during the 2 days we couldn't post any pictures (for no explainable reason, ask the computer) the curbs got laid and today we found the first delivery of plants. There will be water tolerant trees in the wide spots, and small plants in the narrow parts.
Looks like we can post the finished project in a week or so.

Our hats are off to the Southridge Neighborhood Association, who suggested this 2 years ago, and pushed to get it accomplished the BIG help from Mayor pro-tem, Gary Reese, and his staff.
