professor Debbie Boehm of UNLV has secured a grant to conduct an oral history for the John S. Park Historic neighborhood and the surrounding areas of Vintage Vegas that we still call "downtown". Huntridge, Marycrest, Alta Vista, Marie Elaina, Beverly Green and many others are the target area for the oral histories.
One of the sociology grad school school students, Susanne Becker will be conducting interview for the rest of 2007. She's looking for long time residents, original owners, people who grew up in what was then suburbia and is now downtown. If you've got stories or memories, she'd like to hear from you.
