Scott's kitchen

Fifty's kitchens were lots of fun. Can you say Colorful?

His house on 8th Street has blue and yellow tile counters, on the original metal cabinets. It's all torn apart right now getting new floors, a door with a window in it, and new lighting. BUT HE'S KEEPING THE COUNTERS AND CABINETS! His hardest challenge was finding a metal worker to find a way to fit in the new dishwasher, without it looking like an afterthought or add-on.

This is the only before photo, which is too bad since there's also deep double ceramic sinks with a funky cool 1 lever faucet which comes straight out of the wall instead of up out of the back of the sink. It's also original to the house, and is being rebuilt. He found one in great shape on Ebay, and is trading parts to make it work like new. And, there's a sunny little breakfast nook off to the right, with windows looking into the yard.

The stainless steel piece in the lower left is actually an original GE Double Oven stand alone unit with pull out burners. I'm looking for a photo of one for the moment, but promise to show you you Scott's when the project is finished.

Let's not be in such a hurry to rip everything out when "kitschy" is still functional. Thanks Scott, for preserving such a classic piece of Vintage Vegas.
